Story Behind the Art:

Isle Applegryn started making candles in her home in Bredasdorp, South Africa, in 1994 with the equipment and inspiration left to her by her Aunt Jo. Soon, her candles were in high demand by local gift stores, so she hired four local women to help make them. Today, they are shipped to all parts of the world. She called her company Kapula Candles, after saying, 'I am making a couple of candles.'As the company grew, she renovated an old barn into a candle factory and she hired more local women. The skill involved in decorating the candles is highly specialized and painters are trained for over three months to perfect their skills. Today, they employee over 200 local workers. There are many variations to each pattern, so you will receive a variation of the pattern shown in the picture.

What is Worldstock?

The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
