Story Behind the Art:
Raji started working with a female cooperative twelve years ago. Embroidery, weaving, and block-printing had been a hobby of hers since childhood, but she was never given the support or tools to use her skills for gainful employment. Fifteen years ago her husband died, leaving her to take care of her three children. To sustain her family, Raji would migrate looking for work, disturbing her home life and her children?s education. She found a training facility supporting women and their crafts, giving her strength and con?dence to live life as an artisan produce work that rivals any factory-made product in the world. Raji now owns her own house and is teaching her children the art of embroidery to go through life with dignity and self-respect.

Nice product but not as pictured
I would recommend this product because it was lovely fabric. However, in the picture on the website, it is not clear that this fabric is PURPLE STRIPED. It resembles a purple seersucker fabric with the block print on it. In viewing the picture on numerous different computers, I thought the fabric was a cream/beige with the block print. When it arrived, the fabric was clearly striped. I ended up returning it because it was not what I wanted. However, the quality was good and the fabric was beautiful-IF you want striped fabric. Overstock can resolve this problem by either changing the close up photo or including "striped" in the written description.
