Story Behind the Art:
Raji started working with a female cooperative twelve years ago. Embroidery, weaving, and block-printing had been a hobby of hers since childhood, but she was never given the support or tools to use her skills for gainful employment. Fifteen years ago her husband died, leaving her to take care of her three children. To sustain her family, Raji would migrate looking for work, disturbing her home life and her children?s education. She found a training facility supporting women and their crafts, giving her strength and con?dence to live life as an artisan produce work that rivals any factory-made product in the world. Raji now owns her own house and is teaching her children the art of embroidery to go through life with dignity and self-respect.

description is not quite right
It is not a floral, but a floral with stripes, which you cannot see in the images. These stripes are quite strong in the pattern. This gives the overall color a stronger and prominent red-pink than seen in the images. I am a little disappointed in the pattern, but I do like that it is 100% organic cotton and made by a female co-op, meaning money well-spent.
