Story Behind the Art:
The Zenzulu Softwire Women's Weaving Group consists of approximately 100 core women. The group makes telephone wire bowls and vessels, woven around molds. The work from the Softwire Women's Weaving Group can be viewed in the Zenzulu Original range. Challenges presented themselves at the beginning of founding the organization. With only two skilled weavers in this technique, one master mold, limited materials supply and design concepts that proved to challenge even the most masterful of weavers. Funding for skills development was secured, a mould manufacturer sourced, a wire manufacturer was convinced into making shades of fashion colors to specifications and a series of workshops to was run to teach unemployed women from both urban and rural areas how to weave the new designs.
What is Worldstock?
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

This is a beautiful basket.
I love this bowl. We visited South Africa and saw similar ones being made. I purchased one while there and decided I wanted another. The one on O is every bit as beautiful.
- Did the color match the color displayed onsite? The colors are vibrant and well coordinated.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The bowl is made of telephone wire. It is well designed and the craftsmanship is outstanding.
- How accurate was the sizing? This is a nice size for displaying on a shelf by itself.
