Story Behind the Art:
John Barrow was born in London, and first traveled to Peru in 1969. His original contract was for only eight weeks, but he ended up staying. John has always enjoyed woodwork; he learned the craft from his father. 'Living in Peru, I got to know a variety of beautiful wood types,' John explains. 'When I retired, I was finally able to dedicate myself completely to my passion, carving! I have designed my own machines and tools to help me work the wood in different ways.'
