Story Behind the Art:
This lamp was designed and made by a 37 year old talented artisan in Marrakesh, Morocco. He learned this technique when he was working inside of one of the small shops located in the souk (market). After a few years he decided to join his freind and open a small shop in the medina (center of town). He now has the skills and knowledge to create many beautiful lamps to meet the needs of different customers who visits his shop, including customers from all over Europe.

pretty cool lamp
I purchased this lamp to add a bit of interest to our newly redesigned living room. The description lacked dimensions, but I bought it anyway, hoping it was the right size. Received the lamp yesterday and am very pleased with it. It came in a box that had some rough spots on it, but the lamp wasn't damaged (unbelievably!) The lamp leans a bit to one side, but my husband is going to try to bend the legs a bit. It is about 4 - 4 1/2 feet tall. Gives off a lovely amber glow and even comes with a lightbulb. The switch is such that you have to reach your hand up the bottom of the lamp to turn it on, but that is an easy fix with plugging it into a power strip or something where you control power through that. I really love the lamp, but wanted to give a review that truly gives people more information than what the description offers. Overall, I would recommend this lamp to anyone who wants a bit of rustic, old world flair to a living space.
