The artisans responsible for this stool, come from generations of metal workers. The community of artisans has turned its economy from one of a military support economy from the time of the British rule, to one of a handicraft industry. The community has become one of the worlds most prolific handicraft centers, providing handcrafted textiles, furniture and metal work.

Very happy with these stools
I did a lot of investigating for the perfect counter stool for my new loft. I wanted something industrial yet with some texture that would fit into a modern elegance type of decor. These are perfect! I wasn't at all concerned about comfort though friends who come over have made comments that that would be their concern (because of the tufted look), only to sit and find that they are comfortable and the details on top don't make a difference. They might even be more comfortable than sitting on a flat hard surface. They look well made and feel sturdy. I still need to figure out what to do about the bottoms as I have dark floors that show scratches easily. That would be an issue with any stool I bought though. I'll probably put a lot of felt on the feet or even a runner along the floor underneath.

This is a fantastic piece. please keep in mind I did buy this to be esthetically pleasing. I decided to purchase two of these for a client after reading reviews saying that they were in deed comfortable. I have tryed them out and see to problem with the comfort. But please do expect 'comfort', they do not have cushions and are not that great for sitting down on them for a long period of time. My client was slightly confused about that and she agreed to give them a shot for at least a week. So far so good! They are the the best looking stools I have purchased for anyone to date!
