- Moroccan pottery traditions date back over one thousand years
- Today many of the same techniques are still used to create these exquisite works of art
- To create this planter ceramic clay is softened by hand, dried in the sun then baked in kilns that are over 200 years old
- Engraved planter was created by master artisans of Safi, a region of Morocco
- Safi is known for ceramic pottery made of red clay
- Each planter is signed by the artisan and is a unique work of art
- Available in marigold, turquoise, Mediterranean Blue and burgundy/amber color options
- Measures 10 inches wide x 7.5 inches high
Pottery of this type is made in Safi, Morocco, a fishing town on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Safi utilizes red clay to create the ceramic pottery. Clay is softened by hand, and formed using a potter's wheel which is powered by foot, using age old techniques. Pieces are dried in the sun then baked in kilns that are over 200 years old. All items are hand etched and painted.
