This makes a good bedside bookcase. It could be sturdier, but it works. *It was a stroke of luck that I was sent the wrong color - the natural turned out to be much better for the surroundings than the white I ordered.

I ordered this in white and it was a huge disappointment. The "woven fiber" is not much more than heavy paper and it is very flimsy. The fibers are white but the dowels are natural wood so it looks very cheap. also the shelves have nails on the bottom that are supposed to line up with eye-hooks and many of the nails are falling out and nothing lines up well. I'm sending it back asap! My experience with Overstock.com has been great up to this point but it is really laughable at how cheap & chintzy this item is considering the price. This is not worth the money. My advice: don't order it.

When I pay that kind of money, I do not expect those products need assemble. The material is poor, the stitches which put around those bamboo pieces together is not durable, just a plastic thread and the color is white. Common sense should tell you that the thread color should match with the furniture. The whole thing is like a toy. This is not worth the money I paid.

I love the rustic look of this sturdy little cabinet. It arrived already assembled and in perfect condition. The color is accurately represented in the photo, but would be better described as teal or aqua. The top is antique black and I can find no white. Makes an interesting accent piece that adds a splash of color.

I bought this to place my DVD collection of my favorite classic black and white Asian films. It looks well within the Caribbean-Asian theme I'm trying to create in my living room. The workmanship is good. On close inspection I noticed some minor flaws with the finnish, but they were located in areas that would not detract from the overall appearance. Though, I wish the Pagoda was about a foot taller. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. On the Ease of Assembly field I gave a 5 star rating because no assembly is required for this product. Cheers,

The on-site color looks green-tinged aqua, however the one I received is medium teal, definitely not the dark green it purports to be, but neither is there any white to the unit. The shelf top is black. It's pretty easy to unpack, I had no damage at all, there are two planks to protect the "feet" of the unit and that needs to be removed with the use of a screwdriver or something to pull them off, but otherwise there was no (dis)assembly required. The only way this unit could be improved would be to have glass in the cabinet doors in order to reduce dust but that would increase the weight and the shipping complications. It's pretty near perfect as is. I wish I had need for another one, that's how much I like it. I would recommend this as a bookshelf over a buffet unless all your items can fit within the 12 inches of shelf width.

The shelf comes folded flat with hinges on the sides and shelves. There are small nails (hook & eye) to secure it. These did not line up properly, so I had to pull the nails out and adjust them in order to secure the shelf. It looks good overall, but it is somewhat flimsy. I planned to use in our bathroom over the toilet and will not be able to put any candles or jars for cotton & Q-tips on it. It is fine for washcloths and handtowels, maybe a few bars of soap. I believe I paid too much for what I received. I bought two of these, one in brown and one in white for each bathroom, so I paid way too much. I'll check Pier One or Pottery Barn next time.

This "media center", or book shelf, as I use it, is pretty much exactly what you'd expect for the price. It's not the sort of thing you want to display in a house full of expensive couches, wide-screen TVs, Monet paintings, caged tigers etc. But for a residence that wants to feel simple and down to earth, it works quite well. Granted, the white plastic ties along the edge make it feel a little less "natural", but they aren't that noticeable anyway. The one complaint I have with it is that it was difficult to put together. The holes in the sides don't match up with the pegs. If you have a ready supply of brute force and colorful language, it comes together quite nicely in the end. I'd buy another, probably, because I like bamboo as a sustainable resource, and because I like my residence to feel "not quite urban-chic". I disagree with the term "exotic" though.

I've turned against machine-made, conventional furniture, and as this is my final shot at buying new I've been waiting for an interesting replacement for a tall, skinny, ugly, but useful chest of drawers I inherited. Tall and skinny with storage is hard to find! Worldstock finally came through with this stunning "individual hutch," which fits perfectly into the designated space. I love the eye-arresting combination of pale, stripped wood with dark, polished accents. I admit it doesn't hold as much as the old one, and it is a bit unsteady on its pins (a couple of quarters helped), but it is so gorgeous I'm happy to work with it. All my jewelry and some of my hard-to-display lusterware have found a home. Plus space for sweaters in the closed compartment.
