Story Behind the Art:
The elder in a village coordinates several villages/families to get carvings done. They disperse the raw wood bought for each order to each group and then collect the rough carvings for delivery. Most carvers are just family operations and the carving is done when they can. There are cycles based on the rice or other agricultural seasons where they can only get limited carving done. Over the years they have developed designs that have become popular.

When this arrived I was no where near as happy as I thought I would be with it. I realize these are all one of a kind creations, but the coloring was nothing like the picture or what I had wanted. Had I seen this particular one in person I would not have chosen it.

Caution
I should have paid attention to the other reviewers. I thought maybe I would get a product like the photo. It is fairly orange in color. Mine had a 2"x 2 1/2" hole in the top - from a knot . Overstock took back the product without any problems.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. color is not as shown. Cracks may be expected, but not large holes

Nice piece
Rec'd this promptly. Bought it to go next to a black leather and chrome chaise and it looks great. A nice alternative ato a table with legs in a small space
