Story Behind the Art:
When a mango tree reaches 20 or 30 years of age, its fruit is no longer sustainable. Older trees are replaced with younger ones in a process that sustains the forests. The wood is then turned, shaped, dried and finished over a 45-day process. The talented artisans that create these items are ensured to be paid fairly and work in safe conditions. The purchase of this product will help artisans provide food and shelter to their communities as well as generate money to put their children through school.

Pretty wood, sloppy finish
I bought two as side tables for my very low, contemporary platform bed. I love the tortoise shell look of this wood, although they're stained a little darker than I would have liked. I'm guessing they were made by an apprentice--joints not quite square, top surface not quite smooth--or a drunk. I thought of sanding them down myself, evening out the mistakes, but then I decided, Nah, I'm too lazy, and just piled my bedside junk on them. They work fine for what I wanted them for, and you don't notice the blemishes. If you're handy with tools, I'd say buy them, refinish them, enjoy! But I don't think they'd work in a livingroom without some help.

Handsome Accent Table
I am so happy with this table as the simplcity of the design allows it to fit into any decor. The craftsmanship is impressive and I particularly love the stain that has ben applied to the mango wood. It gives a feeling of warmth and unique style. In addition, this table is environmentally responsible as the mango tree has to be cut down at a certain age. It is described as an accent table which is perfectly accurate and at this time, I am using it as a stand alone piece but I could envision any number of different uses for it, even a pair of them used as a coffee table in front of a sofa. The bottom shelf is just perfect for magazines or books. Worldstock has been successful once again in finding a handsome and unique piece at a most reasonable price.

So much trouble
First,I received them damaged. Obviously, banged around in shipping. But wonderful customer service rep. Keep shipping till they got it right. Lovely person to deal with. After 2few weeks the wool is splitting across the top. We hardly use them and put nothing hot,cold or heavy on them. It is such a shame because they look very nice.

Great tables
This is a great table for the price with a pretty pattern that almost looks like leopard spots. It looks more dark wood spots on caramel than what I saw in the photo (looked more beige-ish) and that's actually what I was hoping for! It's lovely with off-white and glass. I have looked for a long time to find an affordable monkey pod wood or other tropical wood table, but they are so expensive! This is a great option. It came quickly and VERY well-packed. Not a scratch on it, and the measurements are consistent (I bought 2 to support a heavy glass coffee table top and it is perfectly level). (While some of the grains don't match up, it is barely noticeable since the pattern is so abstract anyway.)

I wish they provided a close-up picture! This "turtle" pattern has nothing to do with the actual wood -- this is simply a dark finish sprinkled over the surface. From distance, it looks cool, but as you approach, you realize this and it looks cheap and kind of "do it yourself". I wish they would leave just the natural color of the wood. There are visible seams on the horizontal surfaces but not a problem for me -- I use is as a night stand and it is covered with books. The shape is stylish, and that's why I kept it (and also the fact that it is a big piece that is a hassle to ship back). The shipment and packaging was superb.

Cute table
Nice little table- the wood grain is pretty- very lightweight wood- I wish I purchased 2 of them or a larger version as it gets swallowed up in the room but still happy with it

The cube is gorgeous. It's really darker than the picture presents and I actually wanted it to be darker so that was a plus. It looks exotic, no doubt.
