Story Behind the Art:
This product was created in North Western India. Once the British removed its armed forces from the region in the late 40s, a majority of the industries available for the local economy disappeared with them. The indigenous people went back to the traditional crafts and furniture manufacturing that they had known for generations. This industry has truly created a renaissance in economic growth in the region.

Unstable
I love the look of these stools; I wanted them to work so badly. However, they were so so wobbly I couldn't let myself keep them. It just wasn't practical. Even at the lowest height they weren't stable.

Warning!
If you are only going to look at these stools, you'll be fine. But if you plan on actually using them for what they are intended, be warned. They will fall over. They are very cheaply made and the seat is so wobbly that you can never actually balance on it. The entire stool tipped over the first time I sat on it. The pieces that hold the product together are loose and cannot be tightened. I would have thought that I just got a flawed one, but I ordered two and they were both the same. However I have to say they looked great but not worth the risk of someone breaking their back when they fall over. Stay away.

Handsome, attractive stool.
Nice stool, as described. The wood top had one ding or dent in it when the stool arrived, but not very noticeable. Good value for the price. The base is apparently a recast of a Singer [probably industrial sewing machine] stool. Very sturdy.
