The plaque was fashioned after a Ming dynasty style Chinese calligraphy wall plaque. The piece expresses wishes for a long and healthy life. This piece was hand-crafted using traditional Chinese joinery and finishing techniques by artisans in Guangdong province, mainland China. The plaque is topped off with a hand-rubbed medium rosewood finish.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Attending strictly to the local and international anti-dumping and fair trade practice laws, Oriental Homes is proud to bring a piece of their culture into your home.

This is beautiful! We already have pieces of furniture with the long life symbol on them and this wall hanging completes the theme and the "look" I was wanting! Was packed with unbelievable care!

i like the plaque a lot, i was just hoping it was a bit bigger? overall i would have to say this was a great idea and i would purchase it again... just be aware of the measurements for the place you plan to hang it. great color!

Nice Plaque
I love this plaque. It is good for a small wall/small space. The color would match a walnut or cherry decor. It is well made, sturdy, and not flimsy at all. It's too bad it is not made in large size as it would be a striking piece of wall art.

Great Asian decor
I have been into Asian decor since 1980 and have many pieces. This wall plaque is beautiful, well made and goes with my rosewood furniture very well. I would highly recommend it if you like this type of home decoration. The only problem that I have is that the price is too high.
