Okay I agree with everyone else that this is stinky when you first pull it out of the box but I think it's because of the stain. It wore off a few days later. Came ready to pull out of the box and put in my house. I love the storage and it's perfect for what I wanted it for...extra storage in the kitchen area under a window. I didn't want anything too high like a sideboard because people wouldn't see a nasty back of something from outside. This doesn't go that high and also adds for extra seating when we have a party.

The one I received had a small visibile dent on the top (clearly not part of the design) it is being returned. However, even if there was not the dent - it would be sent back anyway. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this product especially since the price was $*! The top doesn't even attach to the base - it sits on top of the base and is suposed to attach via tiny suction cups - which doesn't even hold it in place. One small bump to the table and the top will fly off. I expected something much hardier/better quality for the price. It's cute but it isn't worth more than $75 (on the high side). Don't waste your money on this one.

First off, on arrival it wouldn't unfold. This was due to #6 diameter screws being used on the hinges as opposed to #4, therefore the screw heads were not flush with the hinges and the hinges could not open all the way. After shelling out for properly sized screws and replacing them over the course of an hour, the shelves would not come down properly. The wooden dowels on the upper-most and lower-most shelf were grossly misaligned, requiring me to saw, sand, and use extreme force to get them to lock. After all this was done, guess what? It didn't stand straight. So I spent the next hour sawing and sanding the legs. I would like to add that the screws the manufacturer used are complete crap. Some of them came stripped requiring me to use a screw extractor, a couple more blatantly warped to the point where one sheered off under the lowest torque and speed settings on my drill. I also had to take my multi-tool's knife to a large patch of what appeared to be dried mud on one of the legs. It now stands straight and folds properly, and actually looks quite nice, but for the price this was not what I expected. Heck for any price this is not what I expect. Only reason I did what I did was because it would cost an arm and a leg, not to mention time, to send it back. I honestly don't understand what the manufacturer was thinking here. This is basic quality control. When you make a folding shelf, try to fold/unfold it once before sending it out. About an extra 15 seconds of production time/shelf. Seriously. Unless you like paying relatively high prices, including extra for new materials, for the opportunity of fixing the manufacturer's mistakes, steer clear.
