The holder looks cheaply made. It might be from Ghana, but I'm not convinced that it's hand made or hand carved. The hooks that's used to hang it on the wall is barely held on by loose nails that are too long. If you're not careful, you can reach into the holder and get scratched by the nails sticking out from the wood. However, it serves its purpose, which is to store all the mail that seems to pile up for everyone.
I have had this box for a while. It is much heavier than I thought it would be. So, I don't hang it on the wall. But I keep the kids arts and craft/crayons...etc. during the winter months. It's in my office for days when we are all in the house. It's a great piece and very stylish.
The dimensions listed for this product are not correct. It is more like a rectangular box with a depth of possibly 4". Thus, it was not all what I was expecting as I wanted a magazine holder that was more flush with the wall. It stuck out way to far so I had to return. Was not impressed by the quality. Looks like something we could have made at home.
I like the letter and magazine holder. It's a litte bigger and heavier than I expected I really like it. I am not utlizing it as a letter or magazine holder. I would recommend it but just know it really isn't a piece for hanging.
Item was more bulky than anticipated. The workmanship was poor. The screws used for the hanger, protruded leaving sharp edges exposed which also cracked the wood. The wood was then poorly glued together to mend the cracks.
I am always so very pleased with my ethnic purchases. The Letter/Magazine Wall Holder will be used as a mailbox. I am looking forward to the project and end result. Love it!!!!
I am currently using this as a catch-all basket right inside my back door. I store my gloves, hats, sunglasses.....other small items that I might need right before leaving out the door. it's a nice beefy piece that fits in with the rest of my decor.
