I bought two of these backpacks I think last year. I was going to give both of them as gifts, but once I got them, I had to keep one. I have a balance problem, so I like to carry a backpack type of purse. This is quite large for this, but I don't care, it's just wonderful. I've washed this bag several times - and I probably shouldn't have done, but the fabric itself is, of course, holding up perfectly. There are some long fly-away strings that stick out of the pockets now, but I tuck them in until I can trace them and see if it'll be okay to snip them. Yeah, the buttons all fell off the pockets, but they were just held on by a thread looped a couple of times, and I didn't expect them to last. znot the way I use this every day as a purse! I bought some Vel-Cro tape and use that, although with the drawstring main compartment, I didn't even *really* need to do that.
So anyway - it's a year old, I'm still getting compliments on it. The one I did give away I sent to a teacher who uses it for a book bag. I don't think it would be a great bookbag for a high-level highschool kid or a college person, because they have to carry such huge loads, but for anything short of that, it's wonderful. Just wonderful.
