I was concerned that these drums would be no more than decorations, considering their low offering price. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they also sound quite good, and are very good talking drums. The specific type of beater (mallet) is also included with the drums. I will be using these in my music teaching. Great value for a musician!

Looks neat but doesnt sound all that good. It sounds like you are hitting paper. I would not buy another one. I do love worldstock/fairtrade but not all the products are worth it.

This drum has a good quality sound for its type. I am contemplating painting the drum white for that's what I thought I was buying. Not sure if that process would change it much. Of course if I decide to paint the drum I will leave the stretched skins on the very top and bottom as is. Thanks for providing the product. I checked for and found a drum locally, one very similar to this, and the store wanted 3 times the money so I'm pleased with my purchase.

• Did the color match the color displayed onsite? Not exactly. It appeared to be a color closer to white as opposed to its natural unfinished wood color. I chose this drum for that reason and also the size but it's OK.
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. For a hand made drum it's pretty good. I wonder if the vertical stretched ribs could be a bit tighter. My cat thinks he wants to eat it...LOL!
• How accurate was the sizing? Sizing is just what I was hoping for.

I purchased a drum as a gift for my godchild who lives in California. He loved it but his young daughter also loved it so that he could not play it as often as he liked. I purchased another drum and sent it to them and now they are both happy.,,His wife is even learning to play. Even though I never saw either drum myself as I live in Penna., I have purchased many items from Overstock and have always been pleased with the quality. I got this for my dad for christmas and he LOVED it. Hand carved masterpiece, and it even comes with a cool stick that you beat the drum with. This makes a beautiful display, or practical instrument.

"This large dono drum is well built, authentic and it has such a great sound to it." I bought it for my daughter that is 19 yrs old. She use to be in a drum circle. My son thought that I probably should get one for myself since I was having such a great time with the drum. I bought a different authentic drum from a local store prior to this one. They are not close in comparison in sound or quality, just price. This one you are getting so much more for your money.

gave to my son a musician to add to collection of instruments. he loved it, and planned to use functually as well as diplay piece. sound and handmade look is very nice. Seems a bit fragile, but it's not a toy. would definately recommend.

I wanted it as a decorator piece. The bonus is I can play it,too. Is there more that needs to be said?
