Really a beautiful item, but it was not delivered in a box and not proof of authenticity.

Bought this as a gift and it is far more beautiful than the picture will show. Worth TWICE the retail value.

I bought this product because I was trying to replace a vary rare find that someone had bought us as a gift (they had purchased it along side the Nile themselves). We unfortunately had broken the initial candle holder ...so we wanted to find one to replace it. Our purchase had to live up to very high expectations. The candle that we purchased from Overstock.com was indeed very beautiful and the craftmanship was probably a bit higher quality than the one we were gifted previously. It had thicker stone walls and was flattened on the bottom (probably better for us, since it's more sturdy and wouldn't get knocked as easily). The stone of the globe was also more polished than we expected. It is a very beautiful piece. Since the stone was a bit thicker, it takes a bit of a larger candle (a votive rather than a tealight) to get it glowing properly, but it is a lovely when it is lite up. I think our only disapointment is that there could've been clearer description of the piece online (exact size measurements, weight etc.). These things were really important to us really only because we were trying to find something to replace something that was very precious...(the other globe we were trying to replace was much larger). The service and shipping was quick and it was packed really well for transport, so all in all, I would recommend this product. It is a very beautiful and unique gift.

I have bought three of these globe votives. They are beautiful and give off a soft, warm, glow when lit. I have also given them for gifts. However, the last globe I bought was cracked and I have now have the hassle of returning it. I have one in my office and keep a candle lit in it all the time. I have received many, many compliments. I would have given it 5 Plus stars if the last votive hadn't arrived cracked.

This product was exactly as described. It is very well made. Heavy, genuine material, really made my mom feel like egyptian royalty for having it as a mothers day gift! It was a little pricey but well worth it. The light that illuminates from it when placing a candle inside creates an ambiance that I have never seen before. A truly unique and beautiful work of art!

Overall, I was pleased. I was a bit suprised in the actual size and color of the Votives due to lack of sizing information (besides the words "large") and the darkness of the picture (they are much lighter orange than depicted). Also, there was no slip with the delivary that reminded me what I ordered. (i.e. When I received the votives, I remembered they were "votives" from "Egypt" but I didn't remember they were made of Alabaster when asked). Thus, it would be nice to have an information slip and more spec information for future purchases.

Liked this round votive, but thought it would be larger. Think it is a bit overpriced because of size. Very heavy, and colors are more brown and white, not as photo indicated. Please, Overstock, show truer colors. That would help when ordering items to go with our color schemes.
