I read the other reviews and glad I took a chance. The same type of rustic/industrial type stool at other places are all way more money than these and not as high quality. The look is great for my urban/industrial farmhouse type style. Just the style and pop that make it look so great. I got 4 for my kitchen counter bar. love love love

I originally bought 2 stools because I wasn't sure I was going to like them. They don't have the cool Iron coloring as in the picture, they look more solid black in person. However, they are unique and I eventually purchased 2 more to complete my set. I am happy with them especially for the price!

The whole concept is simple: The seat screws into the base (socket). When raised to the correct 24" counter height, the seat wobbled in the the socket. The fit is just not secure enough. Also, because it has only 3 legs instead of 4, it is unstable. The base is not wide enough, so when you try to rest your feet on the bar, your feet are in an awkward position. My recommendation is to order one (not 4!) and try it out first. Overall, it was packaged well, so I could ship it back without any problems.

These stools were easy to assemble but I had to return them. They were very wobbly and uncomfortable. I purchased them for my counter bar and the higher you make them the more wobbly they get. The feet teetered on a couple of them. However it was Easy to return.

ordered these and they came Black no bronze. It took a while to get the return sorted out and an additional call weeks later to recieve a credit! It all workked out and we have ordered twice since this ordeal. we are fans of Overstock!

I am a corporate designer and have been renovating our Info Services group; this is a mostly male department so I focused the design on more industrial looking accessories. This stool fit the bill -- the look is what I envisioned. I also like the ability to adjust the stool as they will be used at a new counter height conference table. Additionally, the metal surface is easily cleaned if food or beverages are spilled. I am looking forward to the room being completed so the stools can be put into use!

The stools seem quite sturdy and are pretty good looking. I was looking for something that looked vintage so I picked the "burnt wax" color as it looked a bit distressed and irregular. I was a bit disappointed with the color; it is just a solid black. The seats do look like they were hammered by hand so they are a bit irregular and that's a good thing. Overall, nice stools.

Ordered three of these stools. Fairly good quality although one of the seat tops has some bumpiness and imperfections in the metal, considered sending it back but decided to keep it since it's for a lakehouse and wasn't worth the hassle to repackage and ship back. The metal seems pretty thin for the seat itself. The color is not "burnt wax" but probably more accurately described as just "black", need to figure out a way to make it have a more distressed appearance. Overall satisfactory other than this.

I ordered 2 of these. One was wobbly even when the seat was screwed down into the lowest position. The other had a defect that prevented the seat from being screwed into the base at all. I returned them both. As other reviewers have commented, these appear to be handmade so some imperfections were expected but the set I received was unusable. The stools are fairly attractive if you manage to get a working set and would work pretty nicely in a range of rooms. the metal on the seat is not super thick but does not feel flimsy. Too bad quality control is so poor.

Ordered the metallic and it goes beautifully with my stainless steel kitchen. Love the infinite height levels that are possible. They are a tad wobbly at the taller height, so you mighn't want to sit on it for extended periods of time, but they are very cute and have that hand-made look and feel -- which I really like -- craftmanship instead of machine perfection. The first order of two that arrived had one stool that was perfect, but the threaded hole for the second stool was too narrow for the seat to screw into it. I called Overstock and they immediately sent out a replacement and emailed me a shipping label. I sent the defective one back in the original shipping box -- easy-peasy! The new stool arrived in two days and was perfect. I love these stools. I use one as a tiny side table, and the other goes all over the house and even onto the patio for extra seating. When not in use I spin it down to its lowest height and store it under a console table. Looks great. I you are looking for counter stools that will be used a lot every day, these might not be the right choice -- lacking a bit in stability and long-term comfort, But I really love these stools, flaws and all... they are attractive, soulful, and very handy.

The stools arrived with a lot of imprefections which I did not mind because I was looking for a rustic look. What I didn't like was how wobbly the stools were. I thought/expected they might be a little less sturdy when they were at the taller height, but it was not just when the stool was extended up. The stools were unsturdy regardless of the hieght of the seat.

These metal stools are what we were looking for. The quality is fine considerering the advertised manufacturing process ( picture include with stool). If you're looking for a swivel height adjustable metal stool that edges more toward rustic that refined then this is your baby.

This stool is quite over-priced for the quality of product you get. Once assembled, the seat was not level with the ground and wobbled back and forth, making it very uncomfortable. The stool does swivel between "table height" and "counter height" though with only a small pin keeping the seat securely in place, I would be hesitant to use it at it's full extended height. When I received the stool, it had been packaged very poorly, and there were four large dents around the edge of the very flimsy metal seat. I returned the stool the same day I received it.

My house has a modern global vibe so I needed a stool that would fit the bill but not cost too much. This stool has it all - a rustic, handmade quality with industrial lines. It is small enough to fit under my bar counter and my husband and daughter love sitting on it playing on the laptop. The only problem (which we've all gotten used to) is that the seat wobbles a bit and when you adjust it up or down it leaves tiny metal shavings on the floor. We just chalk those little imperfections up to the fact that it's handmade. If you're looking for a stable perch to eat a big meal, this stool is not the one. But if you want a seat that you can easily tuck under a bar or counter top, swivels and is great for enjoying a snack - this is perfect.

The stools are very unique. If you are looking for something different then this is for you. The seat area is huge. Will accommodate a real fat arse! But because they are so unique there are minor imperfections. What I like about these stools (I got two for my kitchen bar area) is that they will do double or triple duty for my table of various heights. There are no sharp edges. The metal is beautiful. The size is perfect. My only comment is that there is a wobble when the stool is fully extended. No problem if you are sitting on it. Just don't try doing a one arm balancing act!
