Story Behind the Art:
This rug was created in the Varanasi region of India, in the Bhadohi village. These rugs are made by Mahmood and his family. They are hand-tufted in their own homes, and everyone in the family helps out in the process of rug making, from his wife, Shakiba, to the youngest daughter, Jamila. They process the wool, themselves in their home, prior to making the rugs. All washing, spinning and dyeing of the wool are done in their home.

Floral Wool Rug
I love this rug. I had been looking for a rug for several months now and when I found that overstock had fair trade rugs, I thought, Perfect!. I always like to buy fair trade when I can and these rugs are so beautiful. The price is amazing too. My only complaint is that the rug does shed a bit, but I have had the rug for about a month now and it doesn't shed like it did when I first bought it. I wouldn't let that deter you from buying it though, it has stopped and I just vaccumm it up, so i it works out perfectly.
