Story Behind the Art:
This rug was created in the Varanasi region of India, in the Bhadohi village. These rugs are made by Mahmood and his family. They are hand-tufted in their own homes, and everyone in the family helps out in the process of rug making, from his wife, Shakiba, to the youngest daughter, Jamila. They process the wool, themselves in their home, prior to making the rugs. All washing, spinning and dyeing of the wool are done in their home.

Not a stitch of salmon color in this rug
This is probably "my bad", but the photo on Overstock.com makes it appear as if there is a salmon-colored edge around a mostly-gold design. I selected this rug because I needed a touch of salmon to tie in to the room decor, and because the Description says "colors of gold, brown, red, ivory, green and salmon". The 3rd (most-right hand) picture is the misleading one. What I'm seeing as a salmon edge is maybe a wood floor? Nonetheless, I like the rug, even tho it's not what I'd expected, but it will do. If I'd paid a lot or ordered a large size, I'd return it. I'll find a place for it somewhere in my home.

Nice rug. Gold color fairly accurate, perhaps a bit brassier than pictured, but definitly a golden color compared to rugs that say "ivory". Ordered to see if I wanted a larger size for dining room. Beautiful rug.
