Story Behind the Art:
The town of Heriz is known as one of the most significant historical places in the Azerbaijan province. They are famous among collectors because of their soft earth-tone colors and geometric patterns. This particular rug was created in the Varanasi region of India, in the Bhadohi village, where weavers re-create the original Heriz design. These rugs are made by Mahmood Alam and his family. They are hand-knotted in their own homes, and everyone in the family helps out in the process of rug making, from his wife, Shakiba, to the youngest daughter, Jamila. They process the wool, themselves in their home, prior to making the rugs. All washing, spinning and dyeing of the wool are done in their home.

This rug is elegant.
I bought this rug for a hallway in my house. I collect Persian rugs and this rug looked like it might fit in. This size rug is perfect and is the most versatile size for a runner. The rug was heavy, tightly knotted and soft. The colors were truly beautiful, just not the colors I was looking for. overstock, generously returned the rug for me as there had been a miscommunication. If these are your colors, I recommend this rug as an elegant adtion to your home.
- Did the color match the color displayed onsite? That was the only issue. The colors matched the picture, but not the discription. I went by the written description. Thouigh I did not see peach in the picture, ot said there was peach. There wasn't!
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Excellent quality woor rug.Thick and tightly knotted.
- How accurate was the sizing? Very accurate.
