I ordered this hand woven Himalayan silk scarf as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law. When I opened the package and removed the scarf from the plastic I noticed a fairly strong "off," odor. Having worked as a health care professional the past 25 yrs, raising 2 kids and having mucked out plenty of horse barns in my day, I can say I am 95% certain this scarf or the yarn it was made from has been contaminated with fecal material. I immediately took the scarf to my clothes washer to launder it when I felt all sorts of twigs and bits of tree bark scattered about the scarf. Upon closer examination the bits of branches were interwoven into the "recycled silk". I had to use forceps to pick out the twig bits before laundering. I am sure the scarf will look fine after laundering and smell a whole lot fresher. It should be noted the colors in scarf are a bit drabber than pictured but passable. As for price, I am not so sure this was a fair price to pay for this scarf. And, the quality had a lot to be desired. Sorry Overstock... just not up to your quality standards.

Very stylish - can't wait for cooler weather. It does shed quite a bit.

I love the texture and look of this recycled silk scarf.

The effect of the pretty, colorful scarf was immediatelyruined by the awful smell of mold. The acconpaning paper said it needed to be aired. It took a drycleaning and two daylong airing and a shot of Febreze before the scarf was OK.

They had a mild mildew smell to them, but I was able to clean the smell out with little effert. They were a gift to my girlfriend and she loves them.

Smelled like mildew, left strings all over my jacket and was very coarse.

I bought two. Both are really different. One is colorful and the other is more subdued and thinner, I knit and can tell one was done by a mom and the other by an ameture. I am not disappointed at all. These are really great gifts.

I was skeptical to buy this scarf because the picture looked dull and I imagined the material to be too lite for a Minnesota winter, but I am glad I did! The scarf is beautiful with vibrant colors and heavier than I imagined the silk material would weigh. I would recommend this as a christmas gift for someone special!

I bought two of these. One for me and one for a friend. They are perfect. Each one is unique, too. I'm keeping the one with more pink and purple and giving her the one with more red and yellow. I'll probably be ordering a few more as gifts.

I was looking for a similar scarf and could not find it in local stores. Ordered it here, received it 2 days later and I love it. There is no scratchy feel, no odor and very little shedding. I'm trying to add color to my wardrobe and this is a great accessory. There are a ton of colors in this scarf and mines even has traces of powder blue and white. It mainly has red and fuschia though. Beautiful!!! Glad I purchased it. Thinking about the gloves and hat now.

I purchased three of these scarves. I gave one to my sister in law and one to my step mom and of course, I kept one for myself. I absolutely love it. I received the product very quickly. The scarf was pretty, I admit. The coloring wasnt as nice as the picture, which was warned against in the description, but the real issue was that it smelled horribly of mildew! Even after cleaning and febreeze the smell remains. Noone would willingly wear that no matter how pretty it was!

The picture does not do the scarf justice. The colors in the one I got were much more vivid. Also the distribution of color showed that the crafts person who made it took great care in blending the material.

I was given this scarf as a present from my daughter , I love the texture, color and generally everything about it. My only complaint is that it smelled funny and even though I sprayed it I still could smell it its like musty or something. But I have gotten lots of compliments on the scarf and it almost matches all my hats. Love it.

This is a beautiful scarf and the colors are lovely. This scarf will add a little pop of color to a casual look.

This is a beautiful Silk Scarf. The material is heavy and well put together. As stated it has an odor, however, easy to get rid of by airing it out, 0r spraying it with fabric scent. A good purchase. This is the second one I've purchased.
