Anita Altamirano was born in Ambato, Ecuador. She owns a factory where several native Ecuadorians from a tribe called 'Salaca' handcraft and hand-weave each individual piece. The 12,000 Salasaca people live in the center of the Andes in Ecuador and speak Kichwa. Many tapestry designs tell their life stories. These tapestries are all handmade of natural wool, spun, dyed and woven. Creations depict the culture and traditions of the native tribes in Ecuador.

Good
Pros: Colors are excellent and fit and finish are good, too. Stitching is very pretty.Cons: The sweater has a very loose weave. I like sweaters to be tighter to keep out wind and rain. This sweater is easy to see through the weave. Also, it is a rough wool so it is scratchy.Overall, it is a toss up for me as to whether this was a good buy.
