This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Black Mother of Pearl Jewelry Box
It appears to be well made. It came well packaged so came in good condition. It's spacious and very nice. The only problem with it is that there is a strong odor, either from the paint or the glue used. We are airing it out in the garage and the smell is lessening in time. It will probably take 2 - 3 months for the odor to go away. Otherwise, it's very nice and what I was looking for.

Beautiful and functional. It is beautiful to look at and enjoy. I would order a second one. It is highly lacquered wth inlayed pieces of carved shells. Just amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to use this as a gift or to recommend it. It is like having a piece of art.
