The Crane Dance tapestry features a young girl playing her flute in a bamboo forest as majestic cranes dance to the music. The piece is double-backed for additional strength and stability and features a loop on top for the insertion of a hanging rod.
The Story Behind the Art
These beautiful tapestries are one of the traditional art pieces created by the Chinese minority known as Miao people who live in the Southwestern part of China. In this region of China there are many high mountains and historically it has been isolated, hence the Miao people have developed their own unique art and culture separate from the Chinese majority known as Han. Wax-dyed tapestry is one of the well known crafts to come from this. The patterns and methodology used in creating these tapestries has been passed down from generation to generation. Each artist adds their own unique touch to these patterns, making every tapestry different. Selling through WorldStock allows the Miao people to keep this ancient art form alive.

BEAUTIFUL
LOVE THIS TAPESTRY....IT IS WELL MADE AND VIVID COLORS. IT WAS EASY TO HANG AND LOOKS GREAT OVER OUR FIREPLACE. IT HAS LOOPS FOR A ROD OR JUST NAIL UP AS WE DID.......ITS A KEEPER!

It's not what I've expected at all.Colors are brighter in the picture.Thought material is softer/silkier type.Nothing to hang with.I'm still looking on how to properly hang it.I'm not happy with this purchase.Planned to return it but my husband liked it.First time I'm not happy with my purchase but I will continue buying from Overstock as most product I've ordered were excellent.
