Bought to match a set of earrings. This is a very pretty stone and an expensive-looking chain.Read More
The opal is a very colorful gem. But the pendant itself is a lot smaller than looks on web site.Read More
This necklace is very pretty. My daughter loved it!Read More
This necklace exceeded my expectations,I am beyond happy with this purchase & would certainly recommend it. This piece is extremely well made,it looks like it would have cost 3 times the amount I paid via Overstock,I also purchased the matching earrings & it makes a STUNNING set. The necklace is a "liquid silver" with tiny round beads separating the "silver bars" it is a bright shiny silver & sturdy, lobster clasp is secure. The pendant is amazing & identical in size & appearence to the earrings, it is a small shiny well made tear drop with a BEAUTIFUL bezel set opal...this is a quality opal that shows different shades of pink, blue and silver when it hits the light. The only difference from the photos ( I found this to be a PLUS...Im not sure if other buyers will) The pendant (and earrings) are a lot smaller in size than the photograph makes it appear to be. The impression I got from the photo was that the pendant (+earrings) were large, but in reality it is approx. the size of a small/medium finger nail..it fits the necklace SO much better & it also makes this a piece that can be worn everyday, from casual to dressy whereas if it were to be the size I assumed it was going to be,it would only be suitable for formal occasions,I was very pleasantly surprised because now it can be wron with jeans & a T-Shirt , a work suit or a formal dress. Its gorgeous I'm SO happy with this purchase.Read More
I am so glad I bought this necklace! I bought it as a stocking stuffer for my girlfreind and when it arrived, I could hardly believe how beautiful it was. You won't find a better looking piece for the price. I was so impressed that I went back and bought the matching earings. And my girlfreind was blown away by how beautiful the set is! Highly recommended!Read More
I spent a long time looking for an opal pendant to celebrate 30 years writing to my Scottish penfriend. Opal is her birthstone and there's some really awful opal stuff out there. This is as good as it looks on the site - tasteful, affordable, and modern.Read More
This is a simply beautiful necklace. We purchased it as a Christmas gift for a family member, and it is just beautiful. There is a nice amount of "fire" to the opal and the workmanship is superior. It is a gorgeous necklace and well worth every penny paid. I only wish the family member could wear silver earrings, as they would make a perfect compliment to the necklace. I highly recommend this piece. I don't expect you will be disappointed.Read More
I bought this for my Mom for Christmas, she really loves opals and has been very disappointed by milky ones in the past. The fieryness of this piece is lovely. The opal is larger than I hoped for at this price point. The only slight disappointment is the beaded chain - it did not look like this in the photo, and it makes the overall piece feel more casual. The quality of the chain and the rest of the silver in the piece seems good, though. A definate deal.Read More
This is a very pretty necklace especially for this price for opals. The opal is very iridescent as shown in the picture and the silver is nicely polished and shiny. There seems to be some discrepancy is the length however. Mine measured closer to 20" rather than the 16" as stated. But that was not an issue for me. I preferred it longer. But anyone interested may be taking a chance on the actual length. The whole pendent measures approx 1/2" wide by 3/4" long, so not overpowering but large enough to be noticed. Very nice for formal or casual wear. Very happy with purchase. Would not be ashamed at all to give as a gift.Read More
This was not at all what I expected. The pendant was pea size......so small it is hard to see. I am returning.Read More

How to Care for Amber Jewelry
Amber is an attractive but delicate ornament. Popular for its deep golden color and natural patterns, amber decorates both antique and modern jewelry, from beaded necklaces to rings and earrings. Handmade amber jewelry from places like Poland, Thailand and India lends an eclectic look to any outfit. This jewelry requires special care, as amber is soft and can be easily damaged by even mild chemicals. If exposed to sudden changes in temperature, amber can crack or even break. For these reasons, care should be taken to protect amber jewelry when wearing, cleaning and storing it. With proper care, your beautiful jewelry will last a lifetime.
Popular Types of Quilts
Out of all the bedding made, quilts may be the most diverse. Quilts are produced in all kinds of colors, patterns, sizes, styles and types. If you're looking for a quilt but don't know where to start, take a look at the popular types of quilts below to learn more about this beautiful kind of bedding. Amish quilts: These beautiful quilts reflect the Amish way of living and feature solid colors, deep hues, geometric patterns and very little embellishment. Amish quilts contain the highest quality of construction and stitching, and, sometimes, the wonderful stitch patterns (scrolls, feathers) contrast with the simple backgrounds of their quilts. Applique quilts: These quilts use a French needlework technique where fabric pieces are sewn onto another piece of material to create a design. Applique is used extensively in the quilting process and is not to be confused with patchwork. Patchwork pieces are joined together; applique is sewn on top of the whole piece. Baltimore album quilts: Baltimore album quilts came from Maryland in the early 1800s. Each block in the design of these quilts is appliqued differently, often in ornate floral patterns. Bangladeshi quilts: These quilts are made with layers of Saree cloth. Saree cloth is silk cloth used by women of India to wrap and fold around the body as a garment. The cloth is usually 40 to 60 inches wide by 6 yards long. These quilts are used as bedding or as decorative pieces. Bargello quilts: Bargello quilts are created with offset squares in an up-and-down geometric "V" pattern. The small squares of different fabrics and the colorful designs make these quilts true works of art. Hawaiian quilts: Hawaiian quilts are not pieced, and they usually showcase a large, symmetrical applique in the center of the quilt. Most often the background is white or another solid color. Patchwork quilts: Patchwork quilts are constructed of many small pieces of fabric which are put together in an improvised or irregular pattern. This is a well-known quilt style, and examples of historical patchwork quilts are found in many museums. Ralli quilts: Ralli quilts, sometimes known as rilli quilts, are traditional quilts made in India or Pakistan. There is an abundance of embroidery as well as applique on the patchwork patterns. Star quilts: Star quilts are created with a large star shape, or several star shapes, dominating the pattern. Wedding ring quilts: Wedding ring quilts are crafted in a design of interlocking rings. This pattern goes far back in history: in the fourth century it was used to decorate drinking cups in Rome. Wedding ring quilts are highly popular and make wonderful wedding gifts. If you're looking for a gift to please an engaged couple, you can't go wrong with a wedding quilt. Bedding always makes a significant gift for the bride and groom, and a quilt with coordinating Egyptian cotton sheets can be even better. View All Quilts Back to Guides Directory View All Quilts
