Story Behind the Art:
Javanese artisan Hariyono was introduced to leatherwork by father, Supardi, who worked as a shoemaker. As a teen, he learned the tooled-leather trade as well as gold and silverwork, and crafted jewelry after moving to the beautiful island of Bali. After some time, Hariyono again took up his family legacy of leatherwork and began to explore leather's creative expression through jewelry, along with other natural materials such as wood, cow bone and bull horn. 'My designs are born from a love of world cultures; they blur the lines between art, nature, fashion and lifestyle,' he says.
