Ketut lives in a mountain village called Sebatu in central Bali. The villages of Bali specialize in just one export: the village specializes in carving wind chime pieces.
Ketut got her name through birth order. In the Bali culture, families name their children in the order in which they are born, male or female. In order of birth, their children are named Wyan, Made (Mahday), Yoman, and Ketut.

Beautiful Piece
I bought it for my mother as a present for her birthday in May of 2010. She loved it but when I visited her on November of 2011, the wind chime was destroyed by the elements. It was a shame to she a present I gave her destroyed a bit over a year later.

very poor quality
the coating on the bamboo is flacking off in spots. it was put in the box for shipping with 2 pieces of paper and about 3 peanuts for packing the threads were all twisted and knoted up.

Poor workmanship. I would not recommended buying this product. It must have been a return. It came apart in several locations and is missing a section completely. Disappointed.

Elephants Rule!
This is a truly beautiful wind chime. I don't think anyone would be unhappy with this product. I've always wanted a "teak" type wind chime and an elephant with an upturned trunk was impossible to pass up. The size and detail were well worth the reasonable price. I gave this product a five star rating even though one of the pieces was broken when I received it (the piece that supports the trunk). I do not believe this was a case of a defective product; but, a matter of poor packaging inside the shipping box. I believe my damaged package was a "fluke" and that most probably arrive in good condition. I am an artist and also do a lot of crafting, so I used a piece of bamboo I had on hand to repair it. Had I not had these skills, I would have returned it for a new one. I am very please with this purchase and have already received many compliments from my neighbors.
