From the picture, this item looked like a full size Asanti stool, and I already have an Asanti uch stool got directly from Ghana many years ago. The original Ghana Asanti stool is heavy solid wood and is almost double in size than the one I received from overstock. I was very disappointed as it is very light and tiny and looks like a toy next to my original Ghana Asanti stool.

Pleased with this item; however, be sure to check the sizing. We are using this stool as a footstool, so the small size is perfect for our needs. It is not large enough to use as seating.

I love this stool! Its very unique and catches my eye every time I enter our bedroom .. it sits at the foot of our bed .. just perfect for sitting down to put on shoes .. and a perfect first step for our little corgi to jump on before she jumps to the floor. Our bedroom is southwest and this stool fits right in making it even more interesting. I love it , and I love that it's carved out of one piece of solid wood. I was worried about the size after reading the reviews, but ours is a perfect 14" tall and 24" long. Overstock.com .. ships fast and easy to work with !!

This stool is a great accent piece-very sturdy. I use it to hold a small water fountain, would be great for a plant as well.

I have one of these stools I bought from Overstock years ago- it is heavier but has the same lovely smell. Nice little stool, handy for many uses- in bathroom for a spot to sit on other than the toilet seat, or to put clothes before dressing; in living room it makes a great little end table without needing much space. I have put plants on it and also used it as a step stool.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. It put the finish touch on my living room decor that I was looking for. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO A FRIEND.

I received my item yesterday. It is smaller than I thought;however, the craftmanship of this piece is great. I would not recommend if you are looking for a stool to sit on.

This is a very interesting looking piece. It's solid wood so it's strong and well made. It's small though, too small for regular adults to use comfortably. We need a hall bench and this doesn't cut it so I'll find something else and find another use for this one. It is very cool looking.

the stool is very good for the price. a bit small as stated in other reviews but nice. the one thing that was wrong with my stool is it's not flat to the ground. i don't know if it's because it's hand made and they can't all be perfect, or if this one was rushed.

The overall aesthetic of the piece is nice, but the bottom is wobbly. It is small, but the measurements are listed, so this was not a surprise. If you want an actual stool that you can use as a stool, don't get this. If you want a decorative accessory that is made of real wood and ethnic in nature, then this is a good choice.

I purchase this stool to use as a prayer bench. It was short enough for me to kneel and for my mother to sit. We use it as a corner piece to do our communions. I would not reccommend this piece for additional seating for an adult as it is very low (please check height measurements). However it is EXCELLENT for a child or older adult to have a place to rest if you have a lot of steps and a landing. It works well for a place to pray or corner stand for a large heavy vase or sculpture. It is also very beautiful dark wood. It is also great for child seating that doesn't look like a kiddie room such as a formal living room.

This stool is very well made. The handcrafted details are very distinguished with reflects in its overall appearance. Just be cautious of height, sits very low to ground.

We purchased this stool for our master bedroom, a place to set while putting on our shoes. We chose this particular one because of the cool design and wood tone.It is a beautiful piece, very sturdy. No assembly required!

I bought one and was thrilled at the prospect of receiving it. I have had it hidden in a corner because it is crooked and tips forward. Very disappointed

This Stool was very nice.. But it wasn't exactly what I had expected. The stool was extremely low to the ground. My 5 year old loves it!! Its too small to even ask guests to sit on. I was quite disappointed. The photos make it appear as if it would higher off the ground. The detail is nice, but the wood is not solid. I'm even afraid to use it as a step stool? so, I placed it in the corner in my room. I actually should return it, because I have no real use for it because its too small to do anything except place it in a corner...? Only nice thing is that it gives your place an exotic look, so that would be the only reason for me keeping it.

This stool adds an interesting look to my living room. A huge plus is that there is no assembly required. However due to its size (short and not very wide), i would recommend getting two stools if you really are trying to get a proper exotic look, else it will get lost in your space and go unnoticed.
