Gave it as a gift to my finance and he absolutely loves it. Gorgeous lamp. Looks great with a dimmer switch. Much better than the pictures indicate. Buy it now :-)

I realy wanted something different so when I saw this lamp I thought it looked unique so I bought it, This lamp is very cool the color is kind of dull but when the light is on and is shinig through the alabaster it is very warm and cool looking. It does not give off too much light but since I bought this one I purchased 4 more.

The first set of alabaster lamps I ordered, both were beautiful and perfect. The second were made of equally beautiful stone, but with electrical elements that didn't accept regular forty-watt bulbs. I found bulbs that would fit, then discovered that they got very hot, very fast (in under a minute, in a cool room). I had meant to give those lamps as gifts, but I didn't feel safe doing that and then worrying about possible house fires, etc. So I had to send them back. I really, really hope Overstock works it out with the supplier of these lovely things that they need to put in an electrical assembly that will 1) accept a regular bulb, the kind people can pick up at the grocery store and 2) not overheat. The fact that I mean to try again shows how taken I am with the beauty of these lamps, because sending back something so heavy is no small nuisance.

This lamp is simply lovely - am very pleased with my purchase.

This lamp looks much better in the photo than it does in person. Its rich color in the photo with professional lighting becomes just a washed out pale version in person. The bottom also gets a bit too hot for a wood table.
