The bag is beautifully hand decorated, and well constructed. I have received compliments each time I wear it. This bag is definately an accessory to any outfit, casual or dressy.

This bag is very cute, hip and very very chic. Yes, the big stone on the back is fairly large, and the clear glue does show a bit, but it's ok (for me) it's gives this bag a lot character. Remember this is not a factory piece, it's an artisan hand made bag. I plan on wearing it with a silver/peweter colored, floor-lenth ball gown, I wanted the funky little bag to add some "pop" to the evening gown. I know it will be a hit, and will surley draw attention; what every girls wants...

I was initially very excited to order this item, especially since I value high-quality products but also being that I support global artisans and fair trade craftmanship. After receiving it, though, I was disappointed in the item for a few reasons. First, the bag had a noticeably strong odor (animal) that was unpleasant. In addition, the clasps and snaps were not made of good quality metal (they didn't feel sturdy), and lastly the purse itself was completely unlined. The detailing on the front was beautifully done, but overall I was not satisfied with my purchase and ended up returning it.

I got this because my daughter brought home a similar bag from Guatemala that I coveted. This one is not quite as nicely shaped, squared off at the top compared to her curved top that nicely echoes the embroidered section. The fabrics on mine are not as detailed. This one actually comes via Overstock from a business that sells handcrafts from around the world to support artisans who otherwise wouldn't make a living, so if I get another it will be directly from there. They also sell lots of other interesting handcrafted textiles. The lining is awful, flimsy and slippery, without any pockets, the same as my daughter's bag has. I had to cut her bag's shredded lining out and replace it within a few months to add a sturdier one with pockets, so use a purse organizer or something to keep things from sliding around, pooling at the bottom and wearing through the fabric.

This is a familiar Guatemalan style and is fine if that is what you are looking for. Quality is good.
