    Story Behind the Art
    This rug was created in the Varanasi region of India, in the Bhadohi village. These rugs are made by Mahmood Alam and his family. They are hand-tufted in their own homes, and everyone in the family helps out in the process of rug making, from his wife, Shakiba, to the youngest daughter, Jamila. They process the wool, themselves in their home, prior to making the rugs. All washing, spinning and dyeing of the wool are done in their home.

  • Finally got here!

    After three tries from overstock, it finally got here! I think the product was great but the shipping was terrible! First they sent me the wrong rug. Second, they sent a replacement to someone in Arizona-not me. And, third - it finally got here!

  • Great quality, color is off

    The rug is very good quality. Thick, soft and well-made. It's amazing to get such a nice rug for this low a price. Unlike what other reviewers said, I don't notice any smell. I just wish the rug was true to the colors shown online. Online (and in the photo that came packaged with the rug when it arrived) it looks like a very bright red/orange color. In reality the colors are much less intense. The red has a lot more brown in it. The creams are browner and the greens and blues are more muted too. Too bad because I absolutely loved the rug in the photo. I am still keeping it and it looks pretty good in my living room. But I'm shopping for an eventual replacement.

    Buy this rug with confidence. Looks exactly like the website, and it's sturdy, thick, and high quality. No fuzzies, either, a problem I've had in the past.
