Story Behind the Art
This rug was created in the Varanasi region of India, in the Bhadohi village. These rugs are made by Mahmood Alam and his family. They are hand-tufted in their own homes, and everyone in the family helps out in the process of rug making, from his wife, Shakiba, to the youngest daughter, Jamila. They process the wool, themselves in their home, prior to making the rugs. All washing, spinning and dyeing of the wool are done in their home.

Love this rug. I ordered a runner for one of our bedrooms. It absolutely 'made' the room. Very cheery rug with some parts of the pattern knotted and other areas cut yarn. I've had it for over six months now and it has been awesome. Didn't shed. Vacuums easily. Looks great! The colors were surprisingly right on (as shown on line). Very happy.

I bought this rug for my entrance hallway. It is a great splash of color, thicker rug (durable) that is holding up well to all the foot traffic it receives! Hides the dirt well too. Very pretty.
