Hand-spun Silk Embroidered Shimmery Flowers Pink Scarf (India)

The silk scarf is exactly as depicted. The silk fabric is very sheer but very stiff--doesn't fall easily like other chiffon scarves I have. Beautiful colors--the background is cream with a pale fuschia, crimson, and purple leaf/flower print. The silk embroidery thread is baby pink and light fuschia. I purchased the scarf to match some baby pink tops I have. However, the fabric is sheer enough that you can wear it with pretty much any color. As beautiful as this scarf is, and as much as I like to support sustainable income, I am disappointed in this purchase and cannot recommend this scarf. The quality of the embroidery stitching is subpar and the fragile hand-woven fabric produced holes in the scarf. Had assumed it was hand-embroidered, but not sure because the stitching is so poorly done. Right out of the package, many of the embroidery ends are loose or unknotted and unraveling, especially on the scarf ends. Many ends that are knotted were not trimmed. Also, beyond the fabric's slubs and irregularities, there are actual holes in the fabric where it's torn away from the edging. I very rarely write negative reviews and have been pleased with craftmanship of many other other high-quality handmade income-sustainable purchases. But sadly, the quality of this scarf wasn't close to what I expected for the price I paid.
