Story Behind the Art:
Tribal bokhara rugs are made by nomads in Pakistan who spend years weaving each intricate detail into these rugs, specifically Mr. Mehta and his family. The original design of the rug originated in Turkmenistan. They are made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill.

Great rug
This is a wine-colored, dark red rug. Its very soft and pliable, around 1/2 inch thick. I got 2 to use bedside. Very happy with my purchase. They say they are (hand)made in Pakistan.

A stunning rug.
I ordered this rug for a small reading nook and it was perfect. The colors are rich and pulled the level of the whole space up to a high end designed look. If they had this same rug in a larger size, I would get it for my home office space.
