Story Behind the Art
In the 15th Century, Fez became the center of the leather industry. The expertise of its tanners made the word "Morocco" synonymous throughout the Western world with fine leather. Today, Morocco is still known for its beautiful handcrafted leather goods. Techniques have changed very little since medieval times and Moroccan artisans pride themselves on the skills in which they employ to create this beautiful leather. Artisans work calf deep in honeycombed vats full of dyes or plant pigments to color the leather. After dyeing, the leather is rubbed with wooden blocks to remove wrinkles, dried in the hot sun and stacked and tied in bunches according to quality. Raw leather is created in Fez and then transported to the city of Marrakech where artisans use the leather to create leather ottomans, lamps and other beautiful and unique pieces.
Moroccan leather artisans rely on the sale of their products to provide for their families. Leather artisans are predominantly male and are the primary bread winner for their families. Artisans live comfortably and often live with extended family in their close-knit homes.

Mosaic Black Leather Ottoman
The advertised size was 16h x 27w which was the size I needed. What I got was 12h x 22w which is too small. Not happy

disappointed!!
This is the first time I have ever gotten something from Overstock that I was so disappointed in... THe size is completely off and the poor "zipper on the bottom" design is a big deal... NOT GOOD!! I like the color and overall look but it is not usable for a two person footstool and this is what I was buying.

Not bad quality ... but there is a zipper on the bottom that is exposed and it will either catch in your carpet and open and therby spill out the tiny fiber stuffing all over the place or it will scratch up your hardwood floors....A zipper should be covered with a flap of fabric to prevent these issues...
- How accurate was the sizing? The sizing was completely off!! I don't have the time, the energy or the money to send this thing back but it is a full FIVE inches smaller in diameter than was described and severl inches shorter...NOT a happy camper.

Great pouf
I ordered this pouf to use in my loft where we watch tv. We use it as a foot stool but it can be used as a seat. It is quite rigid so you would not sink in. It is a nice addition to any room or style.

unique, attractive, malodorous
I really like the look, feel and sizeover of this ottoman. However, it has a funny smell to it that permeates the room. We kept it anyway and are hoping the smell will subside eventually. Hubby not happy about that.
