Story Behind the Art
Khun Pacume learned to carve during the rice seasons while he waited for harvest from his father who learned from his father. His family works together with cousins as time allows and there are jobs to carve. He creates some of his own designs but most work is by customer commission or modifications of his original designs. Khun loves working with wood because it is peaceful and allows his family to earn extra money between seasons.

Expect cracks!
The piece is beautiful, no doubt. It's a very unique piece of furniture. However, when mine arrived, it had several distinct cracks in it and didn't look like they were meant to be there. I wish the description would have mentioned this, just so I was prepared, bc it appeared damaged when I opened it. It's wood and au natural but the splintered cracks take away from the smooth polish of the overall piece. I turned the piece around so it's not so noticeable and still get a lot of positive feedback from guests. Just something to be aware of! Other than that, again, it truly is beautiful

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The parts of the wood that were together were beautiful but it came with significant cracks in it, that didn't look like they were put there purposefully (i.e. there were splinters that looked like they had increased either due to shipping, etc)
- How accurate was the sizing? sizing was spot on

Unfortunately, I think cracks are common in this type of wood so there is a fair chance that the table/stool will be cracked. The table/stool is a unique piece and is a looks great!

Work of art
This is a work of art, having been carved out of a single peice of wood. I received it and although they stated in the decription that some cracks are natural mine were boardering on damaged. The customer service was wonderful, they promtly sent me a new one and return the damaged one with a pre-paid sticker, UPS even came to my house to pick it up for me. It arrrived in perfect condition and I receive so many compliments on it.

Great conversation piece
Although I wish they were a little larger, I love these stools. They are unique yet stylish, and certainly spark conversation. Also, I like that I can contribute to a fair trade while still finding attractive accessory items for my apartment.
