    Intricately carved this unique box boasts eight sides. This piece has been hand carved and set by a talented village craftsman in India. The tradition of hand carving has been handed down for many generations and is still being used today

    The Story Behind the Product

    Muhammad Nadim is a 22 year old from Saranpur, Uttar Pardesh. He makes many wooden handicrafts, including exquisite moon-star wooden jewelry boxes with brass inlays. He has been carving wood since a little boy. ?Since the age of 14 I have been working on wood. I always wanted to be an artisan, like my father. This is the best work for us. This is what we know. It is said that a man with some skill can never go hungry in his life. He will make use of his skill to win his dinner,? says Nadim.
    Muhammad Nadim says they face no shortage of wood in Saranpur. There are six members in his family including is parents, his two brothers and a sister. His brother is also an artisan. The females of the house help in polishing and buffing the handicrafts. Nadim says he can make seven boxes in a day, though the brass inlay can take more time. He hopes you enjoy his work.
