This singing bowl is engraved with the mantra, 'Om Mani Padme hum', referring to the Eyes of Buddha. The eyes of Buddha serve as a reminder to Buddhists to behave ethically, meditate, and make ritual offerings in order to eliminate greed from their lives. Within the Eyes of the Buddha symbol, the dot centered between the eyes represents the third eye. For Buddhists the third eye is a symbol of spiritual awakening.

Forty-seven year old Bir Bahadur Bishwakarma started to work at the tender age of 9. After being involved in his ancestral occupation of copper production for more than 25 years, he undertook training at Balaju Mechanical Centre. He is now being able to provide work to about 20 people working under him. With the support from the metal smith, he has been able to spread his skills among his community, thereby providing jobs to other coppersmiths who come from the low-income sector of the economy. This has resulted in the improved economic condition of the community as a whole.
