This hat is just what I needed. I enjoy sunhats and find them very practical except for the bad habit they have of becoming ruined by either being crushed or from getting wet. This hat solves at least one of those problems, it can be laid flat, sat on or otherwise be mistreated and still be usable. It might also be able to get wet without too much trouble, when I read in the description that it was made out of ribbon I was expecting the kinda silky ribbon you usually get at the sewing store. You know the stuff that gets ruined once it get wet? Well this hat appears to be made out of some other fabric, maybe canvas I'm not sure because it did not have a tag that explained its composition. So it might be able to get wet, I have not tried it out because I don't want to risk ruining my lovely new hat. It has a bendable metal wire that runs along the outside brim so that you can make that floppy effect of normal sunhats, or you can do something else completely different, faux-cowboy hat anyone? I ordered the tan one because I wanted it to look more like a "traditional" straw sunhat, but I think I am going to order another because I like it so much. Definitely recommended!

Humongous, very, very huge hat. Much larger than I expected.

Due to an illness I need to shelter from the sun & I liked the idea of the broad rim & crushable quality of this sun hat. The two I purchase didn't fail me in this, but 2 things about the very broad rim troubles me: 1st the brim falls down below eye level no matter how I adjust the wire at the rim AND 2nd such a broad brim allows even a breeze to lift this light weight hat right off the head - bye bye hat!
