Story Behind the Art:
All this costume jewelery is handmade by a group of artisans in northern India. The process starts with assembly of beads. These beads themselves are handmade by various artisans in their cottages. These beads are then weaved. Artisans sit around in a circle and start carefully weaving the beads to as per the master sample approved by buyers. After that a master craftsman checks the weaved pieces to the master spec and corrects all deformities. Every single piece sold results in creation of employment for a couple of artisans in one of the most remotest and under privelaged villages in India. This money then goes into upkeep of his family and education of his kids.

The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

What you see is not what you get
I was so disappointed when I opened the box. The one I received cannot have anywhere near the number of strands as are shown in the photo. If I fold mine in thirds, it is similar to the photo. Were it not for the knots in the strands which will prevent losing all the beads should a strand break, it would be similar to an arts and crafts project by pre-teens. As is, it is nowhere near worth the price I paid.
