hand painted?
Maybe the original was hand painted but subsequent issues are poorly cut vinyl glued over the wood base. The hinge for the lid is loose so the lid wobbles when opened. From a distance it looks good but don't get too close. I wanted it for an end table with a glass top but am more likely to return it and start over. That's a shame too as it would have been a perfect fit.
