Within the city's medina (center of town), there is a souk (market) where most of the artisans work. This is also the center of trade for each city. Artisans who create Moroccan leather goods are predominantly male. The artisans live comfortably yet modestly. Most do no own automobiles but are able to walk comfortably to work due to the close proximity of their homes to the medina.

red ottoman
Nicer than I expected because the photo makes it look lumpy and somewhat lopsided. Darker in realty than the picture shows, and be prepared for significant shadings in the coloring. Small size is what I wanted, and it is firm. Too low to be a seat for an adult, but I intend for it to be a foot rest anyway. Worth the money in any event. Oh, and there is a zipper in the bottom, which was a pleasant suprise.
