Long before the Spanish arrived upon the coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Maya preferred to sleep and rest in hammocks. They considered the hammock to be like the loving embrace of a mother, due to the comfortable manner in which the body is held and swung within its cradle. Maya Artists of the Yucatan seek to preserve time-honored customs while also offering stylized versions of the original Maya hammock. For them, the hammock is a work of art.

Like it
Just know that the hammock feels a little different from a traditional hammock with a bar. It is a little more taunt in the middle. It is comfortable once you aren't expecting it to feel like a traditional hammock. We bought three and made a little hammock den in a circle. The kids love to hang out there with their friends.

Not what was expected
From the picture it looks like you could curl up inside and get rapped up in the hammock, which is what I wanted, but this wasn't the case. When you get into the hammock it is only comfortable when you sit in it diagonally, which is kind of awkward.

Great hammock. Light weight, but very strong. Comfortable. Our order did take 3 weeks to arrive,but was worth the wait. Happy napping...ZZZZ.
