Story Behind the Art:
Many women in different regions in Guatemala, like Santiago Sacatepequez, Chimaltenango and Atitlan among others, have received this opportunity to awaken their creativity and to receive a fair pay for their work, helping them live in better conditions. Each piece of jewelry created in these workshops is handmade. The ideas for each piece come from indigenous artisans, creating pieces which are not only beautiful, but that also have a social purpose.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
All weights and measurements are approximate and may vary slightly from the listed information.

It's a nice bracelet but a little pricey for the value. I think I could have found this cheaper elsewhere.Read More
The bracelet arrived quickly and well packed. It is exactly as pictured on the web-site. While the cellophane packaging that the bracelet is in specifies that it is made in Guatemala, the gift box designates another country. This may be a bit misleading if being given as a gift and the giver takes the bracelet out of the cellophane packaging and places the bracelet in the box. The beauty of this bracelet is that is is made in Guatemala and therefore, needs a tag ON the bracelet designating this fact. The green color is actually a neon green and quite striking. I did get the bracelet during one of Overstock's sales and I would suggest that the price I paid even then was a bit high however, it is a nice piece of Guatemalan folk art.Read More
