Chopping block is very unique and looks nice even left out on your counter. I've used it for cutting and also as a serving platter for cheese and meats. Something I'm not sure about is it left a brown film on my white counter, almost like an oil or wood stain. It also would have been helpful if there were care instructions included.

This chopping block is just what my kitchen needed. The size and scale is just right. It not only makes my prep work easier, but it adds a little beauty to my kitchen.

I was a little hesitant about spending this much for a butcher block but it was well worth it. I was using the inexpensive plastic type, but they did not last. In the long run this butcher block will save money and makes my job much easier. It looks beautiful, is easy to clean and after it is oiled you can barely see the chopping marks. It is large enough to fit over one side of my kitchen sink, so I keep it there and it is always ready for chopping duty. I use one side for cutting vegetables and the other for meat. We make our own dog food so this has already chopped over 100 lbs. of chicken and 2 turkeys with no problems. I love it and would recommend this block to anyone who has some serious chopping to do. I even received it faster than I expected.
