Add a touch of the orient to your decor with this fine Empress lacquered jewel box. Featuring exquisite hand-carved mother-of-pearl delicate floral designs, this piece was handcrafted in the Guangdong province of mainland China and employs classic Chinese finishing techniques.
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Big, bulky, and HEAVY
Although this jewel box is lovely, it is extremely heavy. The size depicted is accurate, but sight unseen, it is difficult to visualize the displacement needed on a dresser or other location. For its size, it doesn't have a lot of storage capacity - it is all cabinet and not a lot of place for jewelry, given its size. Suggest having a large area for its "home" and muscles to lift it into place.

Had to fix doors; screws were stripped
This product had to be returned the first time due to a broken leg. Upon receiving the second box I still had to make repairs to it before it would be operational.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Quality was only fair due to the door issues. Screws were stripped out and had to personally fix.
