This is the worst piece of furniture I have ever received from Overstock.com. And, I buy a lot. Normally, I have been extremely satisfied with everything I've purchased. The knobs fell off as I pulled the piece out of the box. No screws to even hold the knobs in, plus there were no drawer "stops" so they close into the piece too deep. The backing was literally falling off. The finish is overly glossy and cheap-looking, and overall, the workmanship is very poor. The one five-star reviewer must have gotten really lucky. Obviously, I'm sending this back immediately.

The chest of drawers is sturdy and attractive, and it arrives assembled. I purchased it to place in a narrow space between two windows underneath a pendulum clock with similar finish. As with other handcrafted Indian furniture, the drawer bottoms are of real wood. There are no drawer glides, but the drawers slide without difficulty. The drawer knobs are egg-shaped and made of a white ceramic material fastened to the chest with brass hardware. Before receiving the chest, I considered replacing the white knobs with bronze ones to match the fixtures in the room. However, the chest looks nice as is with a white ornament placed on top. The finish is smooth, but not overly glossy. The chest has a slightly rustic appearance in keeping with its handcrafted construction. The craftsmanship is excellent, and I am well pleased with the item.
