Very happy
from Boston, Mass.,  Jan 18, 2007

This table arrived on the day promised, perfectly packaged with no damage at all. All of the tools that were need to assemble the table were included in the packaging, screw driver and wrench. The legs are bolted on the table with two bolts for each leg. The bolts have one washer each and there was one washer missing, not a big problem. The leafs are attached to the table with three very strong hinges and the leafs have pre drilled holes for the screw so they can be attached to the hinges. The description says that the table is made of solid rosewood but as mentioned in other reviews the stain is really espresso and it says that on the box the table arrives in. I have contemporary styled furniture so the espresso stain is perfect for my home but if this matters to you then be for warned. Total assembly time was 35 minutes When the leafs are folded down the table measures 48" wide X 21" deep and that is more then enough space to display items on. This is a beautiful looking table, well made and very sturdy. All said, I am very happy with the item I received and I have been happy with every produce I have purchased in "O".

The table itself is nice and the wood and color are nice. The hardware provided was rusty but we were still able to put together pretty easily. However, once we got set up I realized that I will not be able to use for a dinner table but for a console table because the legs on the table are too close together to allow for anyone to put their legs through not to mention you won't be able to pull a chair under it. So if you're buying for dinner table - I would keep looking.

Broken when arrived
 from California,  Aug 31, 2007

The drop leaf table is actually a very solid piece of furniture. However, mine was damaged when it arrived. The pegs for the drop leaf supports were broken off and one side of the table where the legs attached was loose due to stripped screws. Fortunately for us, we are pretty handy so made the repairs ourselves. The table is very nice and since all the damage was underneath, no one will know. I would buy this product again, but would hope it would arrive with better workmanship.

Drop leaf table
from Canton, MA,  Dec 28, 2006

I purchased this table for extra seating in my dining room. When it is closed I use it as a console table in my front hall which opens to my dining room. Overall I think the table is quite nice for the price. The finish is beautiful and I love the dark expresso color. It was fairly easy to put together and even comes with tools. The hardware was a bit rusty, but doesn't show once the table is assembled. Also 2 of the stops on the supports for the sides of the table that come up when the table is fully open broke off, but my husband was able to substitute a screw in it's place and it works fine. It is almost impossible to find a modern expresso finish drop leaf table that is 48 inches in diameter, so I was thrilled when I found this one. Overall I think it's a nice table for the money.

Good for small spaces
from Astoria, NY,  Nov 14, 2007

I bought this piece for a small apartment with the belief that it would be a good quality piece that I could take to other apartments as I move with ease. The quality was not as good as I expected. The color is a very nice rich espresso brown. The piece was not extremely easy to put together. The wood is pretty heavy. The instructions were fine but the screws were not very easy to screw in. It works perfectly for the space I needed it in. It folds to a sofa table size. This is one of the only pieces I could find with such dimensions that could actually be used as a full table at times. The leaves are held up by slats of wood that pull out underneath...not the best of quality. Also, there were a few scratches on the item when I received. Overall I would recommend for someone looking for a table to fit into a certain space but not as an everyday dining piece.

Cheap and awful looking. Poor workmanship. The wood is dry and crude and it has a funny smell.,

Nice Table for Price
 from Houston,  Aug 9, 2007

I bought this table for our main kitchen dinette (with the zebrawood chairs). For the money, this table is a good buy. It is easy to assemble, and they had given us extra hardware. HOWEVER, the finish is not durable and scratches VERY easily. My husband is going to refinish the table top and apply a more durable varnish. The legs are close together in the center, but we can still place the chairs evenly around the table without problems. I am happy with the look, but had I known the finish was so poor, I would have chosen another table.

Drop Leaf Round Dining Table (India)
 from Alaska,  Sep 26, 2006

This is a very nice table, both with the leaves down and when up. The lovely modern graceful lines and dark stain make it quite dramatic. Very lovely round edges make it very suitable for those with young children .. no corners to run into.

Sturdy table
from Denver, CO,  Jan 17, 2012

Good, sturdy table -- very heavy. My one complaint is that the stain on it comes off with use on the surface of the table top. Every time we wiped it down, stain came off. I wondered how food safe the stain was-- it made me a little nervous. we stopped using it as a dining table because of this and we now use it in different room with the leaves dropped down, as a console table.

Good for everday
from West Des Moines, IA,  Jun 16, 2011

Easy to put to together, but one of the screwholes in the drop leaf was stripped so I had to drill another hole. Because of the way the legs are positioned, you can only push 2 chairs under it, so it is really not a good dining table for more than 2. The legs are very square and block like, but this is shown in the picture, so I should have paid more attention. Still, it works for me.

Lovely short-term
from Dallas, TX,  Apr 12, 2008

I ordered this a year ago and love how unique it is, plus there are not may drop leaf tables on the market. I am now noticing that the finish is wearing and we never use the table, just dust it. Also, the side where the legs are ended up too narrow for a chair, so not as functional as I hoped.

JUST LOVELY!
from LOS ANGELES, CA,  Apr 9, 2008

Very solid piece of furniture, antique feel. Unfortunately, the pegs for the drop leaf supports were broken off, but you can still open and close the supports by actually reaching under the table, not a big deal . Looks beautiful with the Axium buffet and big enough to fit 6 leather chairs. Fortunately all the damage was underneath. I would buy this product again.

Solid
from Carmichael, CA,  Apr 2, 2008

After hours of searching for a small, round, contemporary dining table, we decided to buy this one. We love it! We do not mind the rustic workmanship (very small chip on inside table leg, short, hairline crack on the top). It is obvious that the table will look good for a long time, and the price is definitely right. Assembly took about half hour.

Drop Leaf Table
from Crestline, CA,  Nov 27, 2007

Took a little over a week to receive my table. Unfortunately my husband assembled it on my floor which apparently had not been swept so my beautiful table ended up all scratched. We decided to sand it down and redo the top. I liked the look of the natural wood much better so we will be sealing the top and stay with the natural look instead of the dark top. It looks quite beautiful with the black base and legs. I am very happy with my table.

Not so Thrilled.....
from Kansas City,  Jul 28, 2007

The table arrived quickly and in good condition. I love color but the legs are too close together on either side to be able to place 4 chairs around it as originally planned. Putting the legs on was a snap. It is light enough for a woman to move it around without much trouble. However, once I turned it over it was so off balance that I could slide my hand completely under one leg when the others were flat on the floor. Yes, I matched the legs as instructed and no it's no my floor - didn't have this problem with my other table. The pieces of wood that hold the sides up were a nightmare. I had to use a hammer and screw driver to get them to move (you have to pull them out to keep the sides up). This was a major bummer because I wanted the flexibility of putting the side up or leaving them down. On of the drop downs were a full 3/4" wider than the other. If you like symmetry, balance and easy to use, this table is not for you.

solid wood
 from Arkansas,  Mar 23, 2007

This table is very heavy and constructed of solid wood. There were some scratches on it which were made practically invisible with a scratch cover furniture polish.

There was a couple of small problems with this table. There was one missing threaded stud for one of the legs and there was one bent hinge. Both were resolved by my husband. But Overall - this is a beautiful table and I am very pleased with it.
